Restoration of Energy

A vital part of exploring the world of RuneScape is the ability to run. The higher your character's agility level, the faster your run energy will recover, thus the longer they will be able to run.

Your character will always restore their own energy. To increase the rate at which your character replenishes their run energy then right-click the run option and select rest. Your character will then sit down and their run and life points will increase the rate at which they replenish.

Some other methods of restoration include:

Item Effect
Papaya Restores 10% energy
Sq'irk juice Restores 10-40% energy, depending on type of juice
White tree fruit Restores 16% energy
Sweets Restores 20% of run energy per sweet
Energy potion Restores 20% of run energy per dose
Energy mix Restores 20% of run energy per dose
Summer pie Restores 20% energy; +5 to Agility
Super energy potion Restores 40% of run energy per dose
Super energy mix Restores 40% of run energy per dose
Explorer's ring Restores 50% of your run energy a number of times per day (depending on the level of the ring)
Strange fruit Restores 60% energy
Goutweed tuber Restores 100% energy
Mint cake Restores 100% energy
Tireless Run (Spirit terrorbird) Restores a portion of your run energy based on your Agility level
Oo'glog's Salt water spring Restores run energy and stops it from depleting for a short period of time

Other Skill Bonuses:

With a higher Agility level, your character can yield more from the gathering skills: Fishing, Thieving, and Hunter.

Multiple Catching:

When fishing tuna, swordfish, or sharks your character will have a chance of receiving a bonus fish (no experience is gained for the bonus fish). Below are the exact levels required to begin multiple fishing catching.

The higher your character's agility level, the greater the chance of receiving a bonus fish. However, at a certain level the chances will no longer increase, but stay the same. Both of these levels are listed:

Level Fish Begin Multiple Catching Limit (Highest chance)
35 Fishing Raw tuna 35 Agility 70 Agility
50 Fishing Raw swordfish 50 Agility 80 Agility
76 Fishing Raw shark 76 Agility 99 Agility

Multiple Pickpocketing:

As you gain higher agility levels, there is a possibility of doubling, tripling, and even quadrupling the loot you receive! The result is the same as pickpocketing the NPC 2, 3, or 4 times, but in the time in takes to pickpocket them once.

Though you can attempt to pass any obstacle backwards, you will always fail in doing so while taking minimal damage. This can be an effective way to leave the pyramid if you run out of water or food.

It is necessary to bring Waterskins or choc-ices, desert robes (top and bottom), a shantay pass, some food, a bowl of water (if you have completed Spirits of the Elid), and an enchanted water tiara is useful.

Notes:
Start by speaking to Turgall in the northeastern power station. He'll ask you to fetch an item for him from the old generator, you will choose between a heavy item and a delicate item. Turgall will give you a spanner - make sure to have a space in your inventory for this, as well as a space for the part you're picking up. Make your way to the old generator, use the spanner on the console to retrieve a delicate item, or on the boiler to retrieve a heavy item.

You may use one path one way or both back and forth, as long as you have the correct part with you. For pure agility training however, most players take the tunnel path both ways.

When returning to Turgall he'll give you xp bonus according to which path(s) you took; 571 ranged xp each way for the grapple path, and 1216 agility each way for the tunnel path. In other words, if you used the tunnel path both ways, you get a 2432 agility bonus in addition to xp for the obstacles.

Fallen ladders, swing -and balance cables can be failed, as well as grappling pylons. If you fall while grappling, use the nearby ladder to climb back up, if you fall using the tunnel path, go to the ladder in the north part of the cave and climb back up.

The item you are carrying will break upon falling, destroy it right away and pick up another one from the old generator. If you leave the course carrying an item, including random events, the item will break as well.

Miscellaneous:

Penance Horn

The penance horn can be obtained for free by speaking to Commander Connad at Barbarian Assault. The item gives double experience to Agility, Mining and Firemaking (burning logs). When receiving double experience from a skill task, the Penance Horn will lose some of its charge. The horn can be recharged by completing all ten waves of Barbarian Assault several times.

The XP reward can be spent by completing agility courses, excluding the Werewolf Skullball, Agility Pyramid and the Penguin agility courses. When doing the Dorgesh-Kaan agility course, the horn only affects the experience gained from the obstacles, not the bonus from Turgall. Around 1,400,000 experience will be gained from a full horn at level 99.
